Dylan

Dylan aka Blaze of Justice aka Buddy aka Goofball aka Please don’t touch my ears aka Shadow left us on Feb 18 2020. Ear mark 116G-40292. Second hound to join us and second to leave. Born 11-17-2006 in Kansas. Dylan came to live with us on February 11, 2012.

Dylan was a racer. Pure and simple. He loved to run and god could he run. The grace, power, speed and athleticism were all there. He could turn circles around our tiny backyard while taking divots equal to my size 12 shoes without skipping a beat. No dogs at the dog park were his equal. He would run them down and stand there barking at them trying to get them to go again.

He joined us at the meet and greets and helped many houndies find good homes. Eventually he grew tired of that and longed to just chill at the house. He loved to play with me and follow me around. For years I had to make sure the bathroom door was properly latched. Sometimes on walks he would want to do zoomies while on his lead. I tried to oblige as best I could. While not a counter surfer, he was tall enough to rest his chin on our dining table. He managed to steal a Christmas cookie and almost got some Cornish hens.

Sadly, father time finally caught up with Dylan and his many age related issues were just too much for him. Good bye Dylan Buddy. Go find Stella on the other side of the bridge and have a good romp around the yard. Go run around the park. Enjoy some Christmas cookies. We love you and will see you again soon.
